Lainie's Way is an educational toy store located in Port Jefferson Village. We sell toys, games, kites and wind spinners. The toys and games we sell have been carefully selected to stimulate the minds of the most discriminating, advanced child or adult, as well as the child with special needs. We strive to provide the customer with products that stimulate and strengthen critical thinking, logical deduction, visual perception, spatial relations and fine motor skills. Our mission is to build and maintain our customer base by providing a uniquely entertaining, hands-on educational experience.
We are seeking to hire full-time Sales Associates who work hard and are committed to excellence, success and having fun. Sales Associates receive ongoing training in all aspects of our business, from game playing to kite flying to sales techniques. They must be knowledgeable about the skills or challenges that each toy presents and have the confidence and enthusiasm to teach our customers how to play the games we sell. Please note: This is a permanent, year-round position.
Sales Associates who complete our 6 month training program will then be eligible for promotion to Assistant Manager. In addition to functioning as a Sales Associate, the Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including selling, customer service, training, visual merchandising and loss prevention. The Assistant Store Manager will be also work as a cashier and a key holder. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will assume all managerial duties and ensure that company standards are being followed.

The Sales Associate is responsible for:greeting every customer with enthusiasm and energy
offering customers assistance in a friendly, confident and knowledgeable manner
serving and selling to customers, sometimes to more than one at a time
receiving shipments, unpacking, pricing, and displaying merchandise
keeping the store neat and clean
always being prompt, well-groomed and ready to work
Qualifications:Being available to work year-round (including the summer season), evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have a persuasive, enthusiastic personality with exceptional supervisory and communication skills
2 year college degree/equivalent or more required.
Must be very, very energetic!
Must have your own, reliable transportation
